『ふたりはプリキュア Splash Star』（ふたりはプリキュア スプラッシュ スター）は、2006年2月5日から2007年1月28日まで、朝日放送の制作により、テレビ朝日系列で毎週日曜8:30 - 9:00（JST）に全49話が放送された、東映アニメーション制作のアニメ作品。『プリキュアシリーズ』の第3作目にあたる。タイトルにもある『Splash Star』は本作品の世界観をイメージして付けられたものであり、タイトルロゴにもあるとおり『ふたりはプリキュア Splash☆Star』と☆つきで表記されることもある。2004年のシリーズ開始の際より、スタッフ間で今までのキャラクターのまま続行するか検討した際、「キャラクターを変えてシリーズを続ければどうか」といった提案から企画された番組である[3]。女児向けアニメシリーズがメインキャラクターを一新することは前例になく、当時スタッフ間ではかなりの議論が行われた。そこに至るまでに前作のキャラクターのままシリーズを続投するという選択肢も存在していたが、「従来通りの継続方法では、数年後先細りするかもしれない」という危惧や、オリジナル作品を2年間監督し続けたシリーズディレクターの西尾大介の消耗を感じていたことから新たな方針を提案し、そのまま決定した。プロデューサーの鷲尾天は、新たなシリーズディレクターとして小村敏明を起用した。小村は鷲尾から見て「子供向けアニメをよく理解している」人物であり、保護者が嫌がる描写や食べ物を粗末にするなどといった描写は絶対にしないからという理由からの抜擢で、結果として鷲尾は本作品がやわらかい世界観になったと語っている。次作『Yes!プリキュア5』にてハイビジョン放送に移行したのに伴い、本作品はプリキュアシリーズ最後の非ハイビジョン放送作品となった。前作『ふたりはプリキュアMaxHeart』が派手...
